Ambient Animations for a play
These animations were made for a class I have where we are working for various departments all around the college, for actual projects they are working on. This project was made for our theater department and for a play that is still under development to be shown next year called "She Kills Monsters" (SKM). And we in the class are currently responsible for animating the scenes and monsters of said play. Our class has been divided into a few teams who are working on a few scenes each, and I specifically am working on both Scene 5 and 12 which is where all these animations come from.
Scene 5: Clothes Store
This part of the scene just takes place in a clothes store in which I photoshopped together myself with a few images provided by the project lead. I animated this scene in After Effects. And in this scene, I made it so that the lights swing side to side, as well as the light they emit, as well as a few dust particles floating through the air.
Scene 5: Book Scene
This next part is more of a small cutaway scene in which a book appears with a dragon coming out of it (not currently animated). So, I made a small scene with a book and a candle on a surface in Adobe Illustrator and animated it in After Effects. In this scene I added a bit of floating dust, I made it, so the candle flame flickers as well as emitting shadows that effect the book.
Scene 12: Mountain of Steepness
This last scene is a scene with the main cast at the bottom of a large fiery mountain. This scene was not entirely made by myself, my teammate (all credit to Sebastian Chavez Garcia) made the landscape and mountains of the scene in photoshop, and I made the background in both illustrator and photoshop. However, for the animation (done in After Effects) Sebastian animated the background's movements, and I animated the floating embers and the flowing lava.
